BACKGROUND
Helping accelerate scientific discovery in and for Autism!
OMNITEC Solutions, Inc. (https://www.omnitecinc.com) has an employment opportunity available for a Scientific Data Analyst to join our team supporting the National Database for Autism Research. We have designed and implemented the leading data sharing platform at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). See http://ndar.nih.gov.
This platform has expanded to include all human subjects research data related to mental health and will soon support other research areas. Using your scientific data analysis skills you will be helping scientists better understand and help accelerate discovery related to mental health.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate must have:
- A degree in life sciences, bioinformatics, or related field is required.
- Experience with big datasets (e.g. MRI, next-gen sequencing), data management concepts and an RDBMS
- The ability to work collaboratively in an intensely goal oriented team project and a working understanding of programming or scripting languages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include demonstrable past work performance and/or assignments requiring active interaction with Researchers, Analysts, other technical staff, and end users
- US Citizenship is required along with the ability to pass a Minimal Background Investigation/MBI to ensure your access to client systems and work sites
PREFERENCES
Additional Helpful Skills:
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services/AWS
- Oracle and/or PL/SQL
- Any Requirements management experience
- Experience in Java, php, or other scripting languages
- Advanced degree
- Graph based analysis tools
