Opportunity: Postdoctoral Fellow -- Heidelberg Human Bioinformatics (HD-HuB) @ European Molecular Biology Laboratory -- Heidelberg, Germany

BACKGROUND
The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is one of the highest ranked scientific research organisations in the world. The Headquarters Laboratory is located in Heidelberg (Germany), with additional sites in Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Hinxton (UK) and Monterotondo (Italy).
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will build on the human bioinformaitcs-focused tool development and deployment activities of the Heidelberg Human Bioinformatics (HD-HuB) node of the newly-established BMBF-funded German National Bioinformatics Infrastructure Network (de.NBI).
Working with the pipelines and other infrastructure developed within this project, the post-holder's experience of using such tools to deliver insightful, high-quality data analyses, will be used to showcase the potential of these tools by deploying and integrate them in a range of different projects linked to metagenomics, cancer research or phenotyping.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements for this position include: a PhD in an appropriate field, excellent communication and organisational skills including excellent written and spoken English, programming skills, a desire and ability to work well within a team, and the ability to rapidly adapt to changing needs in a quickly evolving research landscape. German language proficiency would be beneficial, but is not essential.
