This position requires strong background and experience in both computational science and biology. For applicants with statistical background, Bayesian modeling is required.
- Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Hands-on experience with the analyses of omics data, such as DNA and RNA sequencing data, microarray data, or proteomics data
- Proficiency in programming with one or multiple of R, Matlab, Perl, shell script, C/C++, and Python
- Familiar with popular bioinformatics and statistics analyses, such as differential gene selection, gene set enrichment analysis, ANOVA, and survival analysis
PREFERENCES
- Experiences of cancer research, molecular interaction network study, biomarker detection, or drug target identification
- Capable of fluently communicating with bench scientists about biological questions and transforming them into computational tasks
- Experience of using bioinformatics tools, including (1) Next Generation Sequencing pipeline tools, (2) MEME Suite for motif analysis, and (3) Bioconductor packages such as limma, edgeR, and others
