metalife bioinformatics explorer
Submitted by Nobody ; posted on Monday, September 9, 2002
Dear Gentleman, In april 2002 the metalife team released the first version of the metalife explorer. with metalife explorer the next central metalife tool is implemented in a first version. It enables the user to access the content of metalife knowledgebase thoroughly. All integrated data sources are exploited with one query. Simple queries as well as advanced queries are possible. The user does not need to know the internal data structures of the different data sources. Cross database queries are possible. A compact yet comprehensive dossier about a gene or a protein can be obtained with a single query. Data obtained from structured databases stand in line with text extracted data. Among others, information of the dossiers includes sequences, pathways, publications, patents and relation to diseases. metalife explorer serves as a core part of the metalife working environment. best regards your Metateam
ActivXperts Network Monitor v5.0 released
Submitted by Nobody ; posted on Thursday, October 31, 2002
ActivXperts Software (http://www.activxperts.com), a leader in network- and system monitoring software, recently announced ActivXperts Network Monitor 5.0. The software helps system- and network engineers to monitor their network servers, and notifies when a server is not available. It even help your to recover, if possible. The software has built-in monitor rules for: - HTTP(s) and FTP, including content checking, incluuding support for proxy server - Windows Event Log, Services, DiskSpace, File Existence - Databases: MS SQL, ODBC, Oracle - TCP/IP, SMTP, POP3, Telnet, TCP, ICMP - Group membership - Processes - Active Directory service checks, NT SAM checks - VBScript, WMI and ADSI - and many more. Most important new feature is the redesigned client application: system- and network engineers now have the ability to actually see realtime monitoring information on their desktop instead of on the console. The core of the software is running as a service on Windows NT/2000 platforms. Also an important new feature is the support for VBScript. "There are quite some network monitoring applications available today, but none of them provide the unique interface between service and user. Also, the new VBScript support enables Windows Management Interface (WMI) and Active Directory Service Interface (ADSI). This is very important, because customers can define a huge set of monitoring rules now", says Marian Vahland, Marketing Director of ActivXperts Software. ?Furthermore, the multithreading architecture of the software provides real time information of the network server availability?. You can visit http://www.activxperts.com/activmonitor to obtain a full, 30-day version. Regards, Marian Vahland Sales Manager ActivXperts Software
