The Oncology Genetic Specialist is a field-based role responsible for the technical and clinical support of oncology clientele within a defined geographic region. The Oncology Genetic Specialist focuses on the training, education, and development of our client base in Cancer Centers, Genetic Offices, Oncology/Surgery offices, Breast Centers and other applicable specialty clinics. The role includes dealing with customer business/logistics issues such as test ordering and pricing. The oncology genetic specialist works closely with the regional account managers to ensure the overall sales goals for the region are being met. This role is also responsible for key opinion leader (KOL) development, clinical collaboration with key customers, and adoption of testing services in targeted, appropriate markets.REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, skills & abilities:- Experienced, comfortable, and effective at public speaking
- Good organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Live in a major metropolitan area in the US
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time
- Sense of urgency and resourcefulness when needed and ability to meet challenging deadlines
- Able to assert own ideas and persuade others through effectively consolidating, evaluating, and presenting relevant information
- Skilled at promoting team cooperation and a commitment to team success
- Adept at seeing change as an opportunity to improve business performance and campaigning for it when necessary
- Post-baccalaureate degree in Genetic Counseling, Health Science or other related field, or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
- Board Certified (or Active Candidate) by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or equivalent board certification for other health care providers.
- 1-3 years related experience in genetics services, product management, and/or sales.
- Experience in genetic counseling and/or genetics laboratory services preferred.
