BACKGROUND

The bioinformatics lab (http://www.bioinfo.wsu.edu) is looking to hire a Web/Drupal Software Specialist (position number 121205). The lab develops online genomic, genetic and breeding databases and tools to facilitate world-wide crop improvement efforts that address issues associated with response to food security and environmental change. The successful candidates will be joining a dynamic team who enjoy the benefits of a more flexible schedule within an academic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Web/Drupal Software Specialist will be responsible for the information technology support of a Drupal-based, open-source software project that is used nationally and globally for storage, data mining and visualization of scientific data related to genomics, genetics and breeding. Major responsibilities include support of software, participation in planning and design meetings, solving systems problems, and interacting with other project developers.

REQUIREMENTS

Position requires 3 years of information technology experience or equivalent education/experience.
