    BACKGROUND

    Chemical Computing Group is a life science software company that provides state-of the-art drug discovery software for major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies around the world. Our software, MOE, the Molecular Operating Environment, is a platform-independent molecular modeling package that offers life science researchers a broad range of powerful built-in applications. An embedded high level programming language, SVL, allows for rapid implementation of new scientific methods as well as easy, flexible customization.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Designing, implementing, testing and maintaining applications and extensions to CCG products. Researching, implementing and verifying new approaches to computer-assisted drug discovery. Writing technical documentation, scientific reports and scientific articles. Creating and giving scientific or technical presentations. Interacting with customers at meetings and conferences in North America and overseas. Providing technical assistance to the scientific support team.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Strong programming skills and demonstrable enthusiasm for programming. Demonstrated ability to design, develop, implement and maintain scientific software. Experience in scientific computing and methods development, implementation, and validation. Advanced degree in Computational Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Structural Biology, Bioinformatics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or comparable technical discipline. Expert knowledge in specialized fields, such as molecular modeling, computational methods in drug discovery and design, protein and antibody modeling, biologics. Strong written and verbal communication skills and collaborative attitude.

    PREFERENCES

    Three or more years experience in commercial software or F/OSS development. Expert knowledge of vector-oriented languages (R, Matlab), C, Java, Javascript/HTML5/CSS. Strong familiarity with molecular modeling software (computational and GUI). Experience with all phases of the software development cycle.
