    BACKGROUND

    THIS IS A TEMPORARY JOB.

    This position is in the Product Marketing department.

    It requires rudimentary bioinformatics and data analysis skills, knowledge of NGS sequencing, familiarity with PacBio data is a plus, good communication skills, and ability to interact efficiently with diverse teams.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work with developers, tech support, Applications and product management to get familiar with PacBio SMRT Analysis - our Secondary analysis offering for the RS II instrument.
    • Evaluate, classify and suggest updates to SMRT Analysis documentation for various analytical applications.
    • Evaluate Open Source Analysis tools for PacBio SMRT Sequencing platform, write or update and publish usage documentation.
    • Run analysis using iterations of newer versions of the Software as they become available. Perform analysis through the GUI using standard data sets, evaluate results, and provide feedback to product management.

    REQUIREMENTS

    This contracting position requires experience and background in bioinformatics or a relevant field, also an interest to learn and expand knowledge about data analysis and Next Generation Sequencing. Contractor candidate should have a BS (or higher) in bioinformatics or relevant field.
