    BACKGROUND

    A postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Xiuxia Du in the Department of Bioinformatics and Genomics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

    Research in Dr. Du's group focuses on developing computational algorithms and software tools for exacting information from mass spectrometry-based metabolomics and proteomics data.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The primary research responsibilities of the successful candidate will be developing computational algorithms for a funded research project.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Ethical and self-motivated
    • Recent Ph.D. in mathematics, engineering, or related field
    • Solid computer programming skills in R, Matlab, Java, C++, or other programming languages
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Background on metabolomics data processing and machine learning is a plus.
