    DESCRIPTION

    PhD or Master's candidate positions in computer science or statistics are available in Dr. Pingzhao Hu's lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Medical Genetics (BMG), Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, Canada. We develop and apply statistical and computational algorithms for analyzing big genetic and genomic data. For more detailed information about the research in the Hu lab, please see http://www.hu-bioinformaticslab.org.

    Applicants who have solid training in computer science will register in graduate program in the Department of Computer Science (https://www.cs.umanitoba.ca/graduate/) or Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (http://umanitoba.ca/ece/pros_students/grad/admissions.html). Applicants who were trained in statistics, mathematics or biostatistics will register in graduate program in the Department of Community Health Sciences (Biostatistics stream) (http://umanitoba.ca/faculties/health_sciences/medicine/units/family_medicine/media/biostats_overview.April8.2015.pdf) or the Department of Statistics (http://umanitoba.ca/statistics/programs/graduate.1.html).

    All these positions are fully funded by research assistantships.
