    BACKGROUND

    One of the nation's leading academic medical centers, UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, has excellent opportunities to join our major bioinformatics initiative that will integrate basic and clinical research. Two cornerstones of our initiative are the launch of a Bioinformatics Department to build an academic program and of a Bioinformatics Core Facility (BICF) to meet rapidly increasing needs for bioinformatics by investigators and clinicians on our campus. BICF will expand our Quantitative Biomedical Research Center (http://www.qbrc.swmed.edu). If you are a bioinformatician, computational biologist, programmer or software developer, this is an excellent time to join our team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    BICF will serve the UTSW community in a wide spectrum of bioinformatics applications, from `omic' to images and clinical data analyses. Programmers will work on diverse projects that include software, website and database development. All positions will closely interact with diverse members of our research community.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree in areas of computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics or relevant areas of engineering
    • Demonstrated experience with biomedical applications preferred
    • Strong oral and written communication skills in English

    COMPENSATION

    Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
