RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs and monitors biomedical research projects and assumes primary responsibility for the analysis and presentation of project data
- Designs federated database solutions in Molecular Biology; implements and maintains such designs, analyzes and reports data, incorporates life sciences ontology or vocabularies into data semantics and designs computational tools for data exchange that incorporates data ontology
- Collaborates with biomedical investigators and assists in developing objectives, designing sampling, randomization and data collection procedures to achieve study objectives
- Prepares analysis plans and writes detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables, and figures; communicates with clients and international colleagues regarding statistical analysis issues
- Collaborates with clinic and other personnel, including analyst/programmers in monitoring and assessing data quality
- Analyzes data and prepares tables for interim and final reports; assists in the development of a user-friendly integrated biology database
- Writes results section of reports or publications
- Provides direction and guidance to support personnel
- Design federated approaches to search across and access multiple databases
- Applies advanced bioinformatics, statistical, and computational techniques
- Leads microarray and next generation sequencing-based analysis of animal models of vaccination while integrating data from human subjects
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's Degree
- Major (if required): Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or Systems Biology
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in microarray, epigenetic and RNA sequencing bioinformatics analysis
- Experience developing and creating new bioinformatics analysis techniques
- Experience in immune pathway and gene expression analysis
PREFERENCES
Knowledge and experience in both SQL and NOSQL database management systems.LOCALE
