Opportunity: Software Developer -- Laboratory Information Management System @ European Molecular Biology Laboratory -- Grenoble, France

BACKGROUND
The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is one of the highest ranked scientific research organisations in the world. The Headquarters Laboratory is located in Heidelberg (Germany), with additional sites in Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Hinxton (UK) and Monterotondo (Italy).
RESPONSIBILITIES
The EMBL Grenoble Outstation is looking for a Software Developer to expand the capabilities of the CRIMS and ISPyB Laboratory Information Management Systems to support the operation of automated macromolecular crystallography pipelines. These pipelines will comprise crystallization, automated crystal mounting, X-ray data collection and data processing within integrated workflows and will be applied to large scale ligand screening projects on targets of biomedical relevance. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration within the CRIMS and ISPyB development teams at EMBL and ESRF. He/she will be responsible for the technical specification, design and development of new functionalities and user interfaces, including the development of specific modules to support ligand screening. The candidate will also contribute to provide support for installation and operation of the software at other sites.
REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for a motivated person with at least 2 years professional experience and a desire to work in an international research environment. Applicants should have either a degree in Computer Science or a background in Structural Biology or Biocomputing with demonstrable experience in software development. Experience with object orientated PHP, HTML, jQuery/AngularJS and relational databases will be highly appreciated as well as experience with frameworks, testing and behavior driven development and basic skills in system administration (Linux) and networking. The ability to work within a team and communicate with users is essential. Fluency in English is mandatory.

Grading 4, 5 or 6, depending on experience and qualifications
