DESCRIPTION
The University of Iowa seeks highly qualified faculty candidates for a position in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Candidates must have strong training and experience in Biomedical research, solid training in Informatics (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics), and experience in collaborative Bioinformatics. This is a tenure track position, and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Candidates must have a PhD degree or equivalent, have demonstrated outstanding abilities and skills in research and teaching, and be authorized to work in the U.S.
Candidates will be expected to establish a program of research in the development of new methods in biomedicine (genomics, genetics, pharmacogenetics, biochemistry, and proteomics) in collaboration with their colleagues in Medicine. Opportunities for the development of a quality research program exist in collaboration with other faculty in engineering, with the Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Arts and Sciences, and Dentistry, and with several research centers.ABOUT US

The Department of Internal Medicine is an integral part of UI Health Care which is a partnership between the College and the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. The University-owned teaching hospital is one of the largest in the United States and is adjacent to a leading Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
