    This is a one year temporary assignment with an international pharmaceutical company. Company would prefer local candidates but will consider out of state candidates also.

    The job description and responsibilities follow:

    MA/MS or Ph.D. with cross-disciplinary skills in the biological and computer sciences and 1-3 years of experience with methods in bioinformatics with computational methods for the analysis of genomics and genetics data. The successful candidate will have demonstrated creativity and professionalism measured by publications and patents, but is not required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Propose and manage projects that implement strategies to use data from genetic, sequencing, gene expression, toxicology, and other experimental development. Lead teams of laboratory scientists and information systems professionals building systems to maintain AstraZeneca's lead in pharmaceutical research. Work in close partnership with laboratory scientists a
    nd IS/IT professionals to define and deliver informatics projects of benefit to the drug discovery and development process.
