BACKGROUND
The Regulatory Genomics Laboratory at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Muenster, Germany is offering
Postdoctoral Positions in Genomic Analyses of Chromatin Conformation Dynamics
(position code 17-2016)RESPONSIBILITIES
The laboratory, headed Juan M. Vaquerizas, seeks to appoint a highly motivated scientist to work on dissecting the molecular mechanisms that drive the establishment and maintenance of chromatin conformation in eukaryotes. In particular, the successful candidate will generate and analyse genome-wide Hi-C datasets to investigate how chromatin conformation is established and it's impact in regulating the correct deployment of developmental gene expression programmes. Specific tasks will include:- Generation and analysis of Hi-C datasets for different developmental transitions
- Integration of RNA-seq and ChIP-seq datasets relevant to the systems under study
REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for enthusiastic and talented Postdoctoral Fellows with a PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, (bio)-statistics, mathematics, or related fields, and with a strong drive to excel in a highly international and collaborative environment. Previous experience in genome-wide data analysis (eg, Hi-C, RNA-seq or ChIP-seq) will be a significant advantage, but is not a necessary requirement. Please make sure that you specify your level of proficiency in dealing with genomics data in your cover letter.TERMS
The position is offered initially as a fixed-term appointment for one year with the possibility of further extension following a successful evaluation. The starting date for the position is 1 Oct 2016.LOCALE
The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine offers a highly international and stimulating research environment with state-of-the-art equipment and core facilities for genomics, proteomics and cell biology.
