BACKGROUND
Opportunity for an experienced genetics bioinformatics /biostatistics specialist to participate in and contribute to the success of an innovative molecular computational information company, Genome Profiling, LLC ("GenPro" – http://www.genprollc.com). GenPro is focused on discovering novel epigenetic DNA methylation biomarkers from next generation sequencing data and translating them into a range of new clinically valuable assays, new drug targets, new diagnostics, patient stratification tools, etc. Position would report directly to co-founder/Chief Science Officer with close mentoring by both CSO and the Chief Technology Officer. - Work closely with CSO on new pipeline developments, custom client requirements, new feature development, and novel IP analytics and approaches to discovery and utilization of Epigenetic biomarkers
- Actively participate in operational projects where candidate would be expected to independently plan and execute all aspects of GenPro's EpiMarker Discovery platform on patient cohort data provided by NGS partners including set-up, processing and report production
- Interact with clients to ensure they understand their data and are making the best decisions for their R&D operations to maximize the value of GenPro's epigenetic analytics
- Interact with members of the GenPro management and sales team to assist with development of new customers
REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics or a closely related area
- Demonstrated expertise in R, Python and working in HPC cloud environments
- Demonstrated strengths in code package development
- Demonstrated proficiency in pipeline programming, versioning systems, and/or statistical platforms
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on focused tasks and collaboratively on broader team challenges
- Individual with mature judgment that will identify new opportunities to contribute to company growth
