The Protein Information Resource (PIR) is seeking Bioinformatics Programmers/Analysts to join our group at the Georgetown University to participate in NIH and NSF funded projects. The PIR is a public resource of protein informatics, providing functionally annotated and value-added protein databases as well as bioinformatics tools to support genomic and proteomic research and knowledge discovery.
Description:
The Bioinformatics Programmer/Analyst will be involved in bioinformatics system and interface development, including database management, web deployment and visualization, and analytical pipeline.
Requirements:
- M.S. or higher degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in bioinformatics, database and web application programming with Java (J2EE, JDBC, Java servlets, JSP), Javascript, Perl, C/C++, and SQL under Unix environment
- Solid background in relational database design and implementation (experience in Oracle is desirable)
