BACKGROUND
This project, in Dr. Michal Brylinski's laboratory, investigates across-proteome protein-drug interaction networks to advance our understanding of binding promiscuity of drugs causing side effects. This position requires extensive knowledge of structural biology focusing on molecular interactions between organic compounds and target proteins. Furthermore, it requires high proficiency in computer and computational science, from writing efficient codes in C/C++ and Python languages to performing large scale calculations on modern supercomputers equipped with parallel accelerators (GPU and Xeon Phi).RESPONSIBILITIES
75% Pursue an independent research project investigating across-proteome interaction networks linking drug compounds with their macromolecular targets.
15% Assist with training and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students.
10% Assist with general lab maintenance (software packages, websites, webservers, publicly available datasets, etc.).REQUIREMENTS
PhD in Computational Biology, Biophysics or related field; three years research experience.PREFERENCES
Experience in the development of scientific codes for computational biology, structure-based modeling of proteins and protein-ligand complexes.LOCALE
