Highlights:
- Development of analysis pipelines utilizing open source, commercial and novel software tools and packages
- Development of new applications and tools for the analysis of "omics" data with a focus on next-generation sequencing studies
- Assistance in database loading, web-based visualization and corresponding annotation of large-scale 'omics data sets
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development of analysis pipelines utilizing open source, commercial and novel software tools and packages
- Development of new applications and tools for the analysis of "omics" data with a focus on next-generation sequencing studies
- Assistance in database loading, web-based visualization and corresponding annotation of large-scale "omics" data sets
- Possess and display excellent written and verbal communication skills in all methods of communications to both external and internal end users.
- Must be able to perform with adequate supervision and follow project deliverables and timelines
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in the specific area of bioinformatics with core specific advanced training and work experience
- At least 5 years of science related experience with at least 2 years in core facility specific applications
- PhD preferred
PREFERENCES
- Experienced bioinformatician that specializes in the analysis of large data sets and is experienced in next-generation sequencing data
- The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, and will be very engaged and hands-on with faculty and staff and will work closely with members of the Cancer Informatics Core scientific and administrative teams.
- The candidate will bring knowledge of bioinformatics tools, data analysis and integration along with a strong customer service based approach.
