Opportunity: Bioinformatics -- Online Course Development @ Penn State University -- University, PA (US)

REQUIREMENTS
The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department is seeking candidates with a strong background in bioinformatics and genomics to develop web-based course(s). Applicants should be familiar with data analytics methods for high-throughput next generation sequencing data as well as the different domains of bioinformatics: genome assembly, variation calling and gene expression studies. A good understanding of the algorithmic foundations of bioinformatics methods and their impact on analytical choices is desired. Familiarity with sequencing instruments and sample preparation protocols is important. Course design would need to be complete for an expected course launch in summer 2018. Prior teaching experience or knowledge of sound pedagogical practices preferred.
TERMS
This is a fixed term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding.
COMPENSATION
Salary is commensurate with experience.
