    Opportunity: Medical Informatics Researcher @ Tufts Medical Center -- Boston, MA (US)

    BACKGROUND

    Tufts Medical Center (Tufts MC) and the Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) seek a Medical Informatics Researcher (MIR) for a new scientific software development initiative. The MIR will assess, recommend and document a range of medical informatics issues and methods in support of electronic health record (EHR) data analysis.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Research best practices and methodologies to access, assess and manage EHR data and to create visual and narrative representations of medical informatics workflows.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • PhD in Medical Informatics or related discipline
    • 5 years proven experience as a Medical Informaticist
    • Advanced knowledge of medical concepts, taxonomies, ontologies and metadata concepts
    • Deep knowledge of medical informatics issues and emerging strategies to manage EHR data sets
    • Experience with current and emerging EHR data representation and harmonization standards including but not limited to HL7, FHIR and OMOP
    • Must have strong communication and time management skills
    • Ability to ensure high-quality on-time completion of system documents and deliverables

    TERMS

    At the end of the project, Contractor will have delivered the following to Tufts CTSI:
    1. Medical informatics strategies, workflows and supporting documentation
    2. If selected for this opportunity, contractor will sign a standard Tufts Medical Center consulting agreement and a Business Associate Agreement.Invoices will be submitted on a monthly basis.
    3. Payment will be issued between 45 and 60 days of submission of invoice, the Tufts Medical Center standard accounts payable period.

    Boston, MA

    COMPENSATION

    Total hours not-to-exceed 250 for engagement unless increased by mutual agreement. Payments will be for time and materials, only.
