    BACKGROUND

    The Senior Automation Testing Engineer will develop automation testing for PerkinElmer's Image Data Storage and Image Analysis products (Columbus).

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in designing test plans, write, execute test cases for functional, API, performance and scalability testing within the domain assigned.
    • Work as a member of the scrum team including planning, estimating, and verifying user stories and acceptance criteria.
    • Develop strong expertise in the assigned domain area.
    • Effectively communicate status, metrics, and issues on a regular basis.
    • Understand and be compliant with Informatics practices.
    • Assist in creating test summary reports of high quality (regarding both the written language and the content of those).
    • Become an expert user on how our products work, gain an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses, as well as becoming a key person when dealing with customer issues in order to ensure they have the most positive customer experience and get the desire outcome.
    • Create, execute and integrate automated test cases.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Computer Science and/ or Science-based Bachelor's degree
    • 5+ years of experience qualifying high-volume, scalable enterprise software
    • Excellent experience working in an agile/scrum environment
    • Excellent working knowledge of Linux OS
    • Excellent understanding of Quality Assurance life cycles, methodologies and best practices
    • Excellent knowledge in test case management and bug tracking systems such as Jira, Zephyr
    • Minimum 5 years of experience with one of automation tools like Selenium
    • Excellent experience with a software development business environment (experience on QA is a plus)
    • Java, C, or (Bio)Python experience required.
    • Excellent experience with software tooling and methodologies like distributed version control systems and continuous integration
    • Excellent experience on data integration, Web application, Amazon Web Services, Cluster Computing
    • Experience on test documentation, defect analysis, tracking and reporting and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) approach
    • Image processing and image analysis domain area knowledge will be a plus.
    • Available to travel on ad hoc basis to Madrid / Hamburg or other PerkinElmer offices
    • Proficient in English (both written and spoken)

    TERMS

    Full time, permanent/indefinite contract.
