    BACKGROUND

    QIAGEN Genomics Services Group provides high-quality, customized, sample-to-insight services to customers: From nucleic acid isolation to qPCR, NGS and bioinformatics.
    • We are looking for a scientist with high NGS expertise and excellent communication skills. Your task will be the execution, control and evaluation of customer service projects, and to act as the main contact for customers.
    • You will work in an agile, interdisciplinary team with a unique range of competencies.
    • You will work closely with the service laboratory team and accompany the individual service projects in the laboratory.
    • You will work closely with the bioinformatics team to utilize in-house bioinformatics pipelines to analyze project data.
    • Together with the Service Lab, fellow Service Scientists and Bioinformatics colleagues, you will be responsible for establishing new methods and workflows.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Position Requirements:
    • Doctorate degree in molecular biology or biochemistry
    • Extensive experience in NGS methods and PCR technologies
    • Knowledge of one or more analysis methods: Gene expression, Variant detection, metagenomics, molecular tag technology, targeted sequencing, assay design, etc.
    • Experience in handling NGS data and bioinformatics tools and pipelines on different operating systems (Windows and Linux). Programming knowledge is an advantage.
    • Interest in laboratory automation solutions
    Other Requirements:
    • Ability to communicate clearly and present ideas and results in written and direct communication
    • Enjoy working with customers
    • Independent, self-reliant and team-oriented
    • Analytical thinking, structured working
    • Ability to work with international colleagues
    • International willingness to travel (up to 10%)
    • Good command of spoken and written English
