Opportunity: Postdoctoral position in computational microscopy @ UT Southwestern Medical Center -- Dallas, TX (US)
Submitted by Khuloud Jaqaman; posted on Thursday, May 23, 2019

    BACKGROUND

Derivation of in situ molecular interactions using single-molecule imaging data

A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Khuloud Jaqaman (https://www.utsouthwestern.edu/labs/jaqaman/), in the Department of Biophysics and the Lyda Hill Department of Bioinformatics at UT Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas, TX). The project will be focused on continuing the advancement of a novel analytical framework that we have been developing to derive in situ molecular interaction rates from single-molecule and super-resolution imaging data (https://www.utsouthwestern.edu/labs/jaqaman/research/project4.html).

The Jaqaman lab consists of computational and experimental students and postdoctoral fellows, and has several exciting projects related to the spatiotemporal organization of signaling proteins in the plasma membrane.

    REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in computer/computational sciences, bioinformatics, computational biophysics, biomedical engineering, or a related field. Publications in peer-reviewed journals are expected. Experience in stochastic modeling, GPU programming, and/or matlab is a plus.

    ABOUT US

Information on the UT Southwestern postdoctoral training program and benefits can be found in our Postdoc Handbook or at http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/postdocs.

    HOW TO APPLY

To apply, please submit a CV, a research statement describing past accomplishments and current interests, and a list of three references to khuloud.jaqaman[at]utsouthwestern.edu.
