BACKGROUND

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and development of databases and web applications for storing and accessing curated biological datasets and providing bioinformatics support to various research projects. Provide server administration for Windows- or Linux-based servers.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Bioinformatics, Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum of two years of work experience in a relevant area.

Required skills:
1. Experience with MySQL and MSSQL server and creating database backend environments
2. Experience in developing web applications using ASP.Net, C#, Javascript and HTML
3. PERL/PYTHON and Shell scripting
4. System Administration experience with Windows/Linux

PREFERENCES

1. Master's degree in Bioinformatics or Computer Science
2. Excellent written and oral communication skills with prior teaching experience
3. Prior experience with analysis of bioinformatics data and knowledge of molecular biology

$56,700.00 to $85,100.00 /year contingent up on qualifications
