BACKGROUND
This role is ideal for a recent MSc Graduate looking to gain commercial experience with a biotech company who focus on the development of the next generation of personalised immunotherapies to treat cancer.
The organisation will use its ground-breaking immuno-oncology approach to rapidly advance therapies into the clinic. The ideal applicant will be a talented and enthusiastic team player who will support the robust implementation of features in the bioinformatics software pipeline arising from research findings. This software is a highly specialised pipeline focused on the identification of neo-antigens from high-throughput DNA sequencing data to direct the development of targeted immunotherapies in cancer.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading team of scientists with an international reputation for excellence in immuno-oncology research and to become a key contributor to an exciting project destined to change the course of cancer patient management in the clinic.REQUIREMENTS
- BSc or MSc qualification in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Expertise with at least one programming language
- Experience working within a Linux command-line environment
- Ability and willingness to rapidly learn new languages/frameworks as required
- Excellent communication skills
- A disciplined attitude towards developing robust, reliable and maintainable code
- Experience with Git
- Experience with scripting languages such as python or R
- Groovy (or Java) experience
- Strong knowledge of Bash
- Hands-on experience with high-throughput DNA sequencing data
