Opportunity: Computational Biology/Bioinfomatics Assistant Professor @ University of South Florida -- Tampa, FL (US)

BACKGROUND
The University of South Florida is pleased to announce a faculty position available at the Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) as a member of a newly established USF Health bioinformatics/computational biology core that will support university-wide research programs in microbiome and genomics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will support the research of multidisciplinary teams across the USF genomics community and will have the opportunity to develop independent projects and collaborations. The position resides within the USF Health Office of Research with an academic appointment in the Department of Internal Medicine and close affiliation with the USF Genomics Program.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate for this Assistant Professorship will possess a Ph.D., M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and at least two years of postdoctoral experience in relevant research areas. Acceptable degrees are broadly from the life, biomedical, and computational sciences. Experience with open source tools/databases and proficiency in programming and scripting in R, Python or Perl, Bash in Unix/Linux environment is required.
PREFERENCES
Ideal candidates will have experience in microbiome research, next generation sequence analysis (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq), and expertise in statistical analysis of genomics data.
