BACKGROUND

The Avraham lab at the Weizmann Institute is seeking a motivated bioinformatician (student or intern) for the study of host-pathogen genomics. Learn about our work in the homepage: (http://www.weizmann.ac.il/Biological_Regulation/avraham).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement new machine learning signatures and computational algorithm for the use of predictions of infectious disease outcomes (see our recent work: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-11257-y).
Analyze multi-dimensional clinical and biological single cell RNA-seq data.
Work with our research teams on designing the studies.
Participate in writing and publication of scientific papers.

REQUIREMENTS

Work in the lab is highly cross-disciplinary and collaborative. Candidates should have:

Degree in computer science, bioinformatics or equivalent
Bioinformatics or biostatistics background
Familiarity with machine learning
Experience with analysis of high throughput data and data mining – Advantage
Strong statistical background – Advantage
Team player with excellent communication skills
