Opportunity: Data Wrangler for functional annotation of i5k genomes @ University of Arizona -- Tucson, AZ (US)

BACKGROUND
This is a joint project with the University of Arizona and USDA to annotate protein sets generated by the Ag100Pest Project using established bioinformatics workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include QA/QC of the workflow output; post-processing of the output; and reporting potential bugs in pipeline to the developer. The Candidate will also be responsible for ensuring this data and its associated information is loaded into public databases.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Molecular Biology or related field and three (3) years of related experience; OR a Doctoral degree in in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Molecular Biology or related field and two (2) years of related experience; OR Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
- Successful candidates must be proficient in command line programming.
- Ability to communicate effectively is essential.
PREFERENCES
- Experience with Drupal is desirable.
- Experience in functional genomics and biocuration is desirable.
TERMS
This is a one year appointment with full benefits.
LOCALE
The successful applicant will be located at the University of Arizona. Remote work is possible.
COMPENSATION
$59,48-86,271 based upon experience.
