    BACKGROUND

    The Department of Biology at the University of North Dakota seeks a motivated postdoctoral fellow with strong computational and analytical skills and an interest in developing computational and bioinformatics approaches. The successful candidate is expected to conduct research on integrating omics data, including genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data from large human and mouse cohorts. The candidate will benefit from extensive collaboration with several domestic and international Consortia, such as PsychENCODE project.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful candidate is expected to conduct research on integrating omics data, including genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data from large human and mouse cohorts. The candidate will develop algorithms and computational tools, and apply computational and bioinformatics approaches to understanding the molecular mechanisms of complex diseases. The candidate will disseminate the results of his/her work in the forms of manuscripts and conference presentations.

    REQUIREMENTS

    The ideal candidate shall have a Ph.D. in Genetics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. The candidate must demonstrate excellent experience in programming in languages such as R, Perl, or Python.

    PREFERENCES

    Data analysis and developing integrative approaches for multi-omic data sets, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, will be preferred.
