BACKGROUND
The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in Bioinformatics, Genetics and Systems Biology starting immediately. We have a longstanding interest in the fundamental question on genotype-phenotype relationships. In the era of precision medicine, we integrate high-throughput experimental approaches with CRISPR gene editing and single cell systems biology to identify genetic and epigenetic biomarkers, and synthetic lethal mechanisms underlying human disease for personalized medicine in the laboratory of Prof. Stephen Yi.
Prof. Yi is Director of Bioinformatics and tenure-track faculty member at Livestrong Cancer Institutes/Dell Medical School, and affiliated with Oden Institute for Computational Engineering & Sciences of the University of Texas at Austin. He is also faculty in the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Graduate Programs (ILSGP) and Department of Biomedical Engineering. Prof. Yi is a recognized expert in systems biology, network medicine and functional genomics/proteomics. Recent representative publications include Cell (2015), 161: 647-60; Nature Rev. Genetics (2017), 18: 395-410; Cell (2017), 168: 856-66; Cancer Cell (2018), 33: 450-62; Nature Commun. (2018), 9: 1317; TIBS (2018), 43: 576-92; Cancer Research (2020), 80: 4854-67; Nucleic Acids Res (2020), PMID 33211847.
