    RESPONSIBILITIES

    IDbyDNA is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and experienced Research and Development Scientist to be part of a high-performing, mission-driven, and rapidly growing Product Development team. In this role, you will contribute to the planning, development, and validation of next-generation sequencing-based assays for infectious diseases. IDbyDNA Inc. offers a highly creative, collaborative, and innovative working environment. The title and compensation will depend on the qualification.

    Job Description:
    • Operate in a multidisciplinary group involving members of the Medical Affairs, Bioinformatics, Clinical Laboratory, and Commercial teams
    • Participate in developing laboratory testing strategies based on product definitions to support a growing suite of NGS assays
    • Participate in planning, executing, and documenting method validation studies for new product development
    • Develop and continuously improve high-quality, commercial-scale NGS assays for diverse sample types that address unmet clinical needs
    • Develop and write standard operating procedures in compliance with CLIA regulations and CAP requirements
    • Manage one or more research associates
    • Prepare data and analyses, and contribute to manuscripts and presentations

    REQUIREMENTS

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or related field
    • 2+ years experience in medical diagnostic product development
    • Experience with regulatory aspects of assay development in LDT environments
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Able to work both independently and in a team
    • Problem-solving mindset
    • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively and positively with all levels of the organization
    • Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced organization with high expectations on quality of deliverables
    • Excellent attention to detail
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Microbiology background
    • 3+ years related product development experience
    • Experience with next-generation sequencing
    • Experience in IVD product development in the genomics space
    • Experience with microbial genomics
    • Expertise in statistical analyses of data

    Salt Lake City, UT (must be willing to relo to SLC)
