    Opportunity: Postdoctoral Fellow @ Auburn University, Harrison School of Pharmacy -- Auburn, AL (US)

    BACKGROUND

    Auburn University's Harrison School of Pharmacy (HSOP) is pleased to announce the "Pathway Program," which will provide the opportunity for a highly qualified graduate student or post-doc with a particular interest and/or a demonstrated commitment to the participation of graduate students from historically underrepresented groups to prepare for a full-time faculty position in academic pharmacy and pharmaceutical research.

    This program offers the participants a unique opportunity for customizable research experience that also provides individualized professional development and mentoring and is tailored to each participant's academic career goals. HSOP is recruiting a one-year appointment, renewable twice for a total of up to three years in a trainee position. Following the initial appointment, participant may apply for tenure-track or clinical faculty positions which are recruited for the school. Consideration during the recruitment process will depend on funding, publications, and overall productivity in accordance with school and university policies and practices for recruitment and appointment as an Assistant Professor.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. This is a full-time (40 hrs/wk), 12-month positions located on-site in Auburn, Alabama
    2. The position will be assigned .8 FTE to a combination of the school's research laboratories, clinics, and Learning Communities depending on the career goals of the applicant and the needs of the school
    3. The position will be assigned .2 FTE to activities related to professional development, mentoring, and other targeted activities to support success depending on the career goals of the applicant and needs of the school
    4. The position is administered by the Associate Dean for Research.

    REQUIREMENTS

    1. Completed Ph.D. or Doctor of Pharmacy from a regionally accredited institution other than Auburn University in a field relevant to the teaching, research, or outreach mission of the Harrison School of Pharmacy at the time employment begins.
    2. For those applicants wishing to include clinical experiences in their assignment, a valid Pharmacy License (or other relevant licensure) is required
    3. The candidates selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. (Visa sponsorship will not be provided).
    4. Eligibility to be awarded an administrative supplement under the National Institute of Health's "Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research" program (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/pa-20-222.html)
    5. Potential to become an independent researcher as documented by academic publications, presentations and posters, participation in funding proposals, etc.
    6. Intention to pursue a career in higher education as either a tenure-track or clinical faculty member within a School of Pharmacy
    7. Candidates must have excellent written and interpersonal skills

    A research focus in one of the following areas is highly desired: Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology.
