    BACKGROUND

    The Quantitative Biomedical Research Center (QBRC) is a well-established research center in the Department of Population and Data Sciences at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW). It aims to foster collaborations involving quantitative methods and technologies in any aspect of biomedical research, particularly for understanding disease etiologies and developing treatment and prevention strategies. We are actively recruiting new members to join this new and dynamic group.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    We are seeking applicants for postdoc researcher positions in bioinformatics, imaging analysis and computational biology, especially the following two potential directions:

    (1) Bioinformatics research in spatially resolved functional genomics. This project aims to adopt cutting-edge spatial molecular profiling techniques for innovative biomedical research. Specifically, we are seeking individuals with solid background in biology with strong interests in bioinformatics analysis.

    (2) Artificial Intelligence (AI) in digital pathology. This project aims to develop and apply AI methods for tissue imaging analysis. We are seeking individuals with solid background in biomedical research with strong interests in developing a new career in deep learning and digital pathology.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in Biomedical sciences, Pathology, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Engineering or related field. Preferred (but not required): working experience in AI, machine learning, predictive modeling, imaging analysis or digital pathology. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
