    BACKGROUND:
Columbia University's Department of Systems Biology is seeking a highly motivated genomics and computer science expert to join the Rabadan lab. The incumbent will take part in a cutting-edge project on untangling the molecular biology of cancer. The overarching approach is to generate and analyze deep whole exome and whole genome from both public and private data sets and develop visualization tool for these data. The candidate will work in a highly multidisciplinary environment and will support and interface the analysis of several projects from different lab members.

A research team in Biomedical Informatics located in the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics is seeking a Data Analyst Manager to develop and maintain a software pipeline for the analyses of genomic sequencing data. The job would require the candidate's active participation in the design and implementation of that pipeline as well as interaction with collaborators in applying the pipeline towards achieving the goals of specific sequencing projects. The person will work directly with senior members of the lab in meeting assigned objectives under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.

The incumbent will also oversee the Data Analyst (DA) position within the Rabadan Lab, who will be coordinating research computational efforts, as well as be in charge of genomic data coordination for various working groups within the Center for Topology of Cancer Evolution and Heterogeneity and Program for Mathematical Genomics (PMG) group. The DA Manager position will report to the Principal Investigator of the Rabadan Lab.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Generate and analyze deep whole exome and whole genome from both public and private data sets and develop visualization tool for these data.
    • Support and interface the analysis of several projects from different lab members.
    • Coordinate Data Analyst staff duties and review her/his research computational efforts, and the genomic data coordination for various working groups within the Center for Topology of Cancer Evolution and Heterogeneity and Program for Mathematical Genomics (PMG) group.
    • Conduct quality assurance on data collection processes and activities from Data Analyst staff.
    • Develop and maintain a software pipeline for the analyses of genomic sequencing data.
    • Provide training on data management protocols and database tools to support staff projects to team members.
    • Coordinate and assist with implementation and improvement of data management and data processing protocols.
