BACKGROUND

NYU Langone Medical Center is one of the world's preeminent academic medical centers and one of the nation's premier centers of excellence in health care, biomedical research, and medical education. The Department of Population Health of NYU School of Medicine was founded in 2012, and consists of core areas of biostatistics, epidemiology, healthful behavior change, comparative effectiveness and decision science, behavioral economics and health policy, and medical ethics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The position is in the Division of Biostatistics, Department of Population Health at NYU and under the supervision of Dr. Huilin Li, Professor, Director of NYU Biostatistics Resource and Metagenomic Data Analysis group. This is a training position designed to learn through an advanced level of scientific research efforts in bioinformatical/biostatistical methodology development and biomedical collaborations. Applicants must demonstrate interest in omics data analysis. It requires developing analytical and computational methods for analysis of metagenomics, microbiome data and multi-omics data integration; interact with NYULMC multiple research collaborative labs; extensive analysis of multi-modal longitudinal large biomedical studies.

REQUIREMENTS

PhD in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology; Strong quantitative and computational skills; Ability of analyzing large data sets; Strong communication skills.

PREFERENCES

Prior experiences in analyzing the high-dimensional genomic/genetic or metagenomic data are preferred.
