BACKGROUND

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic postdoc for a three year position to commence 1 January 2024. The focus is on bioinformatics and data science to develop machine learning and graph algorithm-based tools to integrate, analyse and correlate genomic and eDNA data with geographic and environmental data.

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills:

You have a PhD in a relevant field (e.g., computational biology, bioinformatics, data science).
You have proficiency in knowledge graphs, TypeDB, Neo4j, or similar technologies.
You have strong proficiency in UNIX operating systems.
Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams
Excellent English skills written and spoken

PREFERENCES

Desirable experience and skills:

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

Python programming experience
Expertise in genome or environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis
Experience in machine learning techniques
Proficiency in developing bioinformatics pipelines

Place of employment:

The place of employment is at the Computational Biodiscovery Group at the Center for Evolutionary Hologenomics, the Globe Institute, Øster Farimagsgade 5 , 1350 Copenhagen K.
