The Department of Biochemistry and Biology and the Department of Computer Science at University of Potsdam invite outstanding applications for a

Chair of Bioinformatics

(joint appointment)

The position is a professorship according to the Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz BbgHG (May 20, 1999). Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: plant genomics, proteomics, expression or metabolite profiling in plants, regulatory networks in biological systems.

The successful applicant will be expected to interact with researchers within the two departments as well as with researchers from the Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Plant Physiology located in Golm. Participation in existing research programs (e.g. Sonderforschungsbereich 429, GABI) is desired.

The candidate will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in bioinformatics education.
