Opportunity: EPIDEMIOLOGY faculty--Knoxville, Tenn

Position:

Assistant/Associate Professor (Epidemiology/Community Health) for nationally accredited MPH Program with Department of Health and Exercise Science (nine month tenure-track position beginning August 1, 2003)

Qualifications:

Required: Earned doctorate; focus in epidemiology or other closely related field; research interests in infectious or chronic disease (e.g., physical activity, obesity) epidemiology; evidence of scholarly productivity; university teaching experience; and, commitment to obtaining extramural support for research. Desired: MPH or MSPH degree; effective interpersonal and communication skills; experience with secondary data analysis; active in professional organizations; and interest in developing partnerships with community organizations.

Responsibilities:

Teach graduate courses in epidemiology, biostatistics, and others as appropriate. Establish research agenda leading to publications in refereed journals and to extramural funding. Advise students and direct graduate projects, theses and dissertations. Provide professional and community service.
