Clinical Database Programming
Description:
The Senior Programmer/Analyst of Clinical Database Programming will work with and mentor programming staff whose primary focus is to perform database programming tasks associated with a clinical trial. The incumbent will ensure efficient implementation of the edit specifications, clinical database design, data transfers and any reporting requests from Data Management for a project or individual protocol by example or through direct management. He/she will work on multiple clinical team projects at any given time and will be responsible for ensuring integration of the Clinical Data Manager and Statistician requirements.
Specific responsibilities include database management of clinical trials, and other resources needed to provide systems support for the smooth processing and management of clinical trials data. Manager shall supervise and train database programming staff; create clinical data transfer plans; and represent Database Programming at Business Development related meetings.
Conformance to Clinimetrics policies and procedures is essential. In addition, the Senior Programmer/Analyst must possess the confidence and ability to achieve results through innovation, initiative, and strong communication. Requires regular client interaction, including limited travel. The Senior Programmer/Analyst will ensure that all tasks are completed in accordance with a regulated environment.
Requirements:
A minimum of two years of related clinical trial experience. Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle Clinical Programming experience required. SAS experience preferred. Ability to serve in a leadership role in clinical database programming including mentoring staff and the ability to deal effectively with clients and internal customers. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, terminology, and practices is essential.
