Opportunity: Sr. Scientist - BIOINFORMATICS (Ph.D.)--Cambridge, MA

This position is located in our Cambridge, MA research facility.

Responsibilities:

Develop methods and identify parameters for automated QA/QC of high-throughput expression data. Identify, develop and validate algorithms for analysis of gene expression data with emphasis on integration of other data-types (annotation, classification, protein-protein interaction). Produce pilot systems and develop specifications for integration of methods in production environment. Define and document data requirements for applicable methods. Assist in generation of documentation of end-users. Contribute to data analysis projects with disease groups and interface with academic collaborators.

Requirements:

PhD in statistics, mathematics, physics, computer science or related field with interest/exposure to biological problems. Documented expertise in multivariate and statistical data analysis. Documented ability to generate creative solutions to complex problems. Experience with Affymetrix technology is desirable.

Experience with high volume, high dimensional, dispersed data. Programming skills in JAVA (preferred) or Perl. Self motivated, working efficiently in a heterogeneous team environment comprising of biologists, computer scientists and programmers.
