The Science Advisory Board has a good discussion on the issue. They?ve featured David Stern?s (Director of Science Libraries and Information Services at Yale University) article in Information Today entitled "Open Access or Differential Pricing for Journals: The Road Best Traveled?" The article and Forum threads raise some interesting points regarding the Open Access debate. The thread can be read here: http://scienceboard.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2103&FORUM_ID=15&CAT_ID=12&Topic_Title=Open+Access&Forum_Title=Biomedical+News+%26+Views On a related note, the data gathered from The Science Advisory Board's recent study entitled "The Future of Electronic Journals" is presently being analyzed.
