As you may already know, AMD has come out with a line of x86-compatible microprocessor chips that run both 32-bit and 64-bit software. Digit-Life has a review of the chips (the Athlon 64, the Athlon 64 FX, and the Opteron), which are compared with the Intel Pentium 4:
