    The Ohio State University Department of Biomedical Informatics is seeking a Systems/Data Base Developer

    Salary range: $71,000 - $78,000

    The Biomedical Informatics Department is looking for motivated and talented individuals to help in expanding its information technology support for cancer-related basic and clinical research studies conducted by researchers at the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC).

    REQUIREMENTS

    The successful candidate will work in a team of software and application developers to design and implement integrated application software and databases that will support management and integration of high throughput molecular, genomic, proteomic data and clinical data. The candidate should be willing to interact with biomedical researchers and translate their data management requirements to successful solutions in an integrated data warehouse environment. The successful candidate will apply high quality software engineering and system integration practices and deploy software in an integrated production environment. Balancing multiple tasks and strong ability to work in a team environment are key requirements of this position. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience in SQL, Java/J2EE, ODBC, inter-application communication protocols, systems design and software integration, database development, data modeling and Oracle platforms are required. Demonstrated prior experience in medical and bioinformatics domains, medical/clinical systems, Web Services, and web interfaces are desired. A Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in computer science or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
