    DESCRIPTION

    ============
    • Seeking talented engineer for software development position.
    • Provide critical lead role in application development of innovative
    new software products.
    • Will be a key member in young bright team committed to creating an
    innovative new software to help biomedical researchers.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    =================
    • Work closely with the development team in designing and
    implementing key software components.
    • Create software development and implementation plans.
    • Technical software design and documentation.
    • Gather end-user requirements and feedback.
    • Manage software defects and enhancement requests.
    • Perform reliability, regression, usability, stress, performance,
    security and other types of testing as appropriate.

    REQUIREMENTS

    ===============
    • BS Computer Scient/BS in technical discipline preferred.
    • Experience with web development/web applications.
    • Experience in bioinformatics/bio-IT related applications.
    • Experience with formal software life cycle development.
    • Solid understanding and practice of reusable software development.
    • Ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Java, PHP,
    mySQL server, network/systems programming, user interface, and
    platform independent development.
    • Experience with software security models and implementation will be
    a huge plus.


    Work Experience:
    • 2-3 years of professional software development experience for
    commercial products


    About Biotrue
    =============
    Biotrue is developing a Research Data Management System (RDMS) to
    manage the massive flood of biomedical research data generated by
    modern instrumentation and techniques. The development of RDMS is
    supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health, and the
    RDMS is already in alpha testing at major Bay Area institutions.
