    LIMS PROJECT MANAGER

    DESCRIPTION

    You will work closely with Research Scientists and IT System Administrators to set up enterprise wide scientific applications, specifically the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Your primary responsibilities will be to work with the Clone and Sequence Production lab to build up customized data tracking systems based on the workflows designed by the wet lab biologists, integrate robotic instruments, set up the cross communications between different automation equipments and maintain the current clone management systems.

    You will also be responsible for managing the project and training the laboratory staff in its use. When needed, to also act as a liaison between research and IT staff to troubleshoot operational issues that arises. This position combines a mixture of project management and vendor management with superior technical know-how to create a complete solution for sample tracking, sample inventory, bar coding, robotics instruction, data analysis and data collection.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Master?s Degree in Biology/Genetics or Computer Science
    • At least 3 years? IT experience in major platforms, including UNIX and windows
    • Experience managing extended complex projects including outsourced professional services
    • Technical knowledge of Oracle, Oracle Forms and Reports, PL/SQL, and past experience working with a laboratory.
    • Familiar with the current automation systems or have some engineering background.
    • Experience in LIMS and/or instrument integration preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, exemplary organizational skills and able to work in a collaborative team-orientated environment
