Software Engineer
(Contract in DxIx/Discovery Informatics for 6 months)

REQUIREMENTS

The project requires the developer to have at least 2 years experience of Java, Oracle and XML/XSL. Experience with a framework such as Jakarta Struts is also required. They must have displayed initiative and delivery-focus against demanding project deadlines within a small team or on their own. Experience in the pharmaceutical or life science industries would be useful but is not essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, test and document Web-based software solutions.
Implement interfaces using XML and XSL.
Modify existing Oracle database.
Analyse existing code, modify and document.
Integrate new software modules and any required changes to existing code.
Must be able to meet strict deadlines. Communicate any dependencies that will impact on delivery to Project Leader.
