    DESCRIPTION

    Postdoctoral applications are sought in Bioinformatics to work with Dr. Jeffrey Skolnick. Available projects include the development and application of novel algorithms to predict protein structure and function on a genomic scale. Specific areas include threading, ab initio folding, protein structure refinement, quaternary structure prediction, drug discovery and design, and the automated assignment of proteins to known pathways.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Highly creative individuals are sought with the following qualifications:
    • Extensive experience in developing computer code in languages such as Fortran, C, C++
    • Previous experience of international quality research in structural modeling, bioinformatics, computational genomics would be major advantages
    • A track record of publication in high quality international journals.
    • Ability to work in a team, yet think independently
