    The Computer Science & Engineering Department of Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology is organizing a National Conference on Bioinformatics Computing (NCBC'05) on March 18-19, 2005.

    Bioinformatics is the most promising & upcoming field. It covers and affects wide spectrum of life. The teachers, researchers, professionals and students are becoming passionate about the subject. The institutions are competing to develop infrastructure in terms of skilled manpower & equipment to make the dreams of present generation come true. In line with national policy, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology has taken a lead by establishing an active Bioinformatics Research Group (BRG) and is handling research projects on bioinformatics funded by various national agencies.

    In this endeavor, we have taken an initiative to provide a common platform for all who are involved in this field and also for those who wish to join the field of bioinformatics computing, by organizing this conference.
